Nottington Spa House
It was claimed that a shepherd in 1680 was driving a flock of sheep through the village, many of which were suffering from scab. As he passed the spring which was next to the road and open, several of the sheep drank the water and as it had formed a small lake or pool, walked through it and washed themselves. Of the flock that did this, recovered and became sound which was attributed to the virtues of the water. ¹
