Beach Motocross 2006
2 of 2
Thousands of spectators lined the Esplanade to watch riders of varying ages and abilities negotiate the twists and turns of a difficult course. The event dates back to 1980 and has grown to become the largest amateur event of its kind in the country.
The Purbeck Motocross Club organises the racing in association with Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, which benefits from money raised and uses it to help local good causes¹.
